Garmin Connect issues solved...

9/16/2016

The recent change in Garmin Connect required some changes in my apps as well. Sportablet 9.2 and the Uploader for Garmin 8.2 should work just fine until the good guys at garmin deem necessary to break things again :-).

Remember: as part of this change, garmin has adopted more stringent policies on passwords. So first check if you need to update yours by logging in through a browser (not the Garmin Connect app - your garmin web account and your account on the garmin app, if you have it, do not necessarily share the same password). If an update is required, go trough with it and then update the password in my app as well. Note: if you auto-login into connect because of saved preferences, I suggest that you first log out of connect and then log in manually, otherwise you won't be asked for a new password.

As usual, this is the time when I invite you guys to follow the sportablet account on twitter or facebook (links here on the right). There is no marketing going on there. I use those channels only to inform you of important stuff (updates, issues, etc.)

. how do I get the updates for the app?

if you mean adding manually things like "10km run" then no, you can't. You can manually import fit/gpx/tcx files, but I suppose that's not your case.

updates: same way as any other app you got from google play. depending on how you set your android devices, updates will be automatically downloades, or you'll get a notification from google play and you'll have to confirm the update manually.

Great follow up on review on Google Play Store. The app worked fine, I only had to reset my password on Garmin to be able to upload again.

Thanks Carlo!

Not sure what's causing this issue, but with my 910XT, it gets stuck in this cycle:

Failing data transfer. Just got the app. Seems great, but not sure why it is failing.

Thx,

ok, this is totally the wrong post as it's about issues with garmin connect not with the 910, but anyway. There is a weird thing in your log, which I've seen only once (and still waiting for details on that case), that is this line:

---------
W data size mismatch
---------

which at some point is messing up the entire transfer. Basically what it means is that the app expected a packet of data with a certain size (defined by a standard) but got a different size.

Does your watch work properly when you use a PC and the garmin software instead of my app?

Apologies. Actually started with a Garmin Connect issue I was having and then found your app.

The app downloaded sole but not all of the activities. Garmin Connect just gave me an error.
