Garmin Connect: it's not over yet

Update: I've got a working fix for this. It will fix the uploading issue for TCX based devices, that is:
- forerunner 201, 301, 205, 305, 405, 405CX, 410
- all the handheld models currently supported
I'll be releasing a new version today.

If you want updates on this, follow the sportablet account un facebook or twitter. I can either spend my time trying to fix the app or answering all the emails :-).
------

I've good news and bad news.

The bad news are that there are still issues uploading to garmin connect. Those issues are affecting (as far as I know) only people with a device sending data in TCX format (like the FR 305 and 405). It's unclear if it's a global problem or limited to some areas of the globe.

The good news are that I have identified a reasonable fix. While the previous fix was about the envelope of data (so to speak; the multipart form post for those who know about this stuff) this is about the contents of the tcx itself. The fix is simple, but since I'm sending the same data to all the websites, I also need to test this change against all the other apps I'm supporting.

If you're currently experiencing problems, consider adding a comment here with your device + your nation, as this may help understanding the boundaries of the problem.

thanks; the 310/610/910 uses FIT files, so I actually expect them to work fine (although I've got a report of a 910 failing not long ago).

It works fine with my 910. The only problem that still exists is that it needs many tries with my xperia active until it establish a connection with 910.

usual suggestions apply:
- turn off wifi/3g in the phone
- stay away from wifi sources like routers; the internal chip is easily disturbed
- there are many other suggestions elsewhere in this blog : )

It's 5.5. I just tried again a few minutes ago, and it worked fine. I don't know why, but many thanks.
