Got a smartphone or a small-screen tablet? check out the Uploader for Garmin!

Sending Tracks and Courses to the Garmin

9/10/2013

The Uploader for Garmin 5.0 and Sportablet 5.9 can now send tracks to some Garmin models (Forerunner 205, Forerunner 305, Edge 205, Edge 305), straight from your Android tablet / phone.

It's the first step of a long journey. All details here.

Tell me what you think here, and don't forget to leave a positive review on google play, tell your friends, etc. The app needs you : ).

I need to see a log to be more precise (instructions here: http://www.sportablet.com/answers.html) but from what I'm reading in various forums / websites, the y300 does *not* support usb host mode (see here, for instance: http://usbhost.chainfire.eu/?search=y300, note the red cells on the right).

It is unclear if it's an hardware limitation, a ROM problem, or both. In any of those cases, there is nothing an app can do.

Still, in your email you mentioned that the garmin is not even charging when plugged in. That seems to indicate a lack of power on the USB, which is a common issue among some smartphones. I would try to connect the garmin through a powered usb hub or a y-cable + charger and see if it makes any difference.

Hi..many thanks for the prompt reply. I think the huawei y300 does not have a powered USB host. Used with powered USB and still no luck. Powered the garmin 205 via hub as you would expect but no data received to app. It states huawei y300 not recognised by app. Is there any thing else I could try. Many thanks
