Sportablet 5.4 uploads to Endomondo

7/13/2013

I've just pushed a new version of Sportablet to Google Play, with a direct upload option for Endomondo. This feature is going to be in permanent beta (see my previous post for details).

Guys, please share this news with your Endomondo friends, thanks :-)

With some luck, next week I'll add one more direct upload option

Thank you very much. I'm an Endomondo premium user. You need a little step more. When I upload from file or directly to Endomondo I can't see hr med and the hr graph. If I upload directly from Endomondo or upload the Garmin connect file all is perfect. I think
the problem is on the file export.
Thank you any way

Yes, I'm aware of this issue. It is actually a poor implementation on the Endomondo side, but of course I'l fix it on my side.

Details for anyone who cares: data in TCX files are raw, contains spikes, etc. Every app (including mine) does some filtering, and every app does it in a different way. The garmin device itself does some filtering, usually a poor filtering (being a small device).

Statistics like max and avg must be calculated on filtered data, that's why most apps (Garmin Connect, Training Peaks, Strava, etc etc) ignore the min/max/avg field from the TCX and re-calculate the statistics. If they get the statistics from the TCX, it may not match with their post-filtering data.

Endomondo does that properly (for instance) for altitude, as I'm not sending min and max either but they show just fine, but they don't for HR, they expect max and avg to be in the file. Currently, they're not there. I'll add it into a future version.

That's about the min/max/avg HR. I can see the HR chart just fine though. If you can't, I need to see one of your TCX files and perhaps a screen dump of what you see in endomondo (I only have a free account, and I don't plan to get a pro).

I've tried to edit on endomondo site my run. I edited manually the hr avg field. Suddently on my phone appeared the hr graph. I'll send you a mail with one tcx and the relative hr graph.
Thanks

thanks Manuel, I see that you mean "time in hr zones" with "hr graph", while I meant the HR over time / distance chart (together with the pace chart, altitude chart, etc). That's why I said I could see it :-).

Anyway, endomondo obviously needs avg hr in the file to work properly. I'll add that in the next (or next + 1) release. Thanks for the head up.

So, the general feedback is that this issue is properly fixed in
Sportablet 5.5 / Uploader for Garmin 4.3
